comments:
While studying for a marketing degree, Montreal native Christy Chung entered and won the Miss Chinese International beauty pageant in 1993, beginning a successful career in show business. Her debut film was in The Bride With White Hair 2. Christy went on to appear in a variety of popular comedies, dramas and action movies with Hong Kong stars including Stephen Chow and Simon Yam; played the love interest of Jet Li in the 1994 action-romance The Bodyguard From Beijing, and co-starred in two movies by celebrated action director Yuen Wo Ping.

Jan Dara (2001)

Title: Jan Dara
Released: 2001
Genre: Drama
Runtime: 120 min
Country: Thailand
Language: Thai

Comments: One of the first Thai movie's I have seen. The story is about the Life of Jan Dara, who's mother dies giving birth to him. He grows up hated by his "family". I've heart that the Thai movie board did not approve of this film until the 3rd time it was send in because of the many "naughty" scenes. Compared to Dutch or French movies this film is really conservative, but for Thailand this is a first. The showing of breast has long been forbidden (as I understand) overall the story is very strong and it is NOT a feel good film, so it does not leave you with a smile on your face.
