comments:
She is equally convincing as a 19th century "corset queen" as she is as a 20th century American drug addict. And she's gorgeous.

Helena has charmed audiences in dozens of acclaimed films, television features, plays, and radio pieces. Renowned and much loved in England, she has recently achieved American blockbuster status with Fight Club and Planet of the Apes.

Novocaine (2001)

Title: Novocaine
Released: 2001
Genre: Comedy / Mystery / Crime / Thriller / Drama
Runtime: 95 min
Country: USA
Language: English

Tagline: Crime Is Not Only Done By Criminals.

Plot Summary: Novocaine, an edgy, unpredictable crime thriller, stars Steve Martin as prosperous dentist Frank Sangster whose well-ordered existence is thrown into turmoil when an alluring new patient draws him into a seedy underworld or sex, drugs and murder.

Comments: Basically its Steve Martin in a modern film noir, only in color. If you were wondering about Helen Bonham Carter's performance in fight Club, here it is again. It sags a bit at times, never really builds momentum. Acting was great, story is good, definitely worth seeing, but not as good as it could have been. Interesting Kevin bacon turn as an actor researching a film. Best quote: "this isn't a movie, it's real life."

Scene Description: Helena Bonham Carter having sex with a guy.

Dancing Queen (1993)

Title: Dancing Queen
Released: 1993
Genre: Comedy / Romance
Runtime: 51 min
Country: UK
Language: English

Plot Summary: One of three hour long dramas that Rik Mayall did for the BBC in the summer of 1993. Dancing Queen concerns Neil who is at his batchelor party. A stripper called Pandora performs her dance and Neil's mates load him on a train as a last gag. Neil awakes on the train, Pandora's there and at the stop where his mates are to pick him up, the train doesn't stop. Neil and Pandora walk around one of Northern England's premier seaside towns as he frets over the utter chaos his marriage day has turned out to be and tries to get back All the while, Pandora is going on carnival rides and just generally moping around listening to Abba's Dancing Queen. In the end, Neil gets back, discovers what an utter cow he was going to marry and heads north to be with Pandora.

Comments: Sweet, funny, memorable. This one-off TV movie is one of my all-time favourite films. Scarborough has never looked more romantic and beautiful. Mayall and Bonham-Carter deliver thoughtful, subtle performances and have real chemistry. Above all, this story is simply pleasurable, each scene unashamedly romantic. I love this movie and watch it when I'm down. It's an old fashioned romance for modern people who wish real life could just be a little nicer.

Scene Description: Helena Bonham Carter wearing a bra and panties and a wedding veil dancing for some guys on a table and then removing her bra revealing her breasts.

Cousin of Crispin Bonham-Carter.

Her father was severely paralyzed by botched brain surgery in the 80s.

She was rejected admission to King's College, Cambridge University - not because of her grades or her test scores, but because school officials were afraid that she would leave mid-term to pursue her acting career. Because of Cambridge's rejection, Helena, ironically, decided to concentrate fully on acting.
