comments:
Monica Bellucci is one of the world's most beautiful and sexiest
women. That's it, that's all, we don't need more reasons.
We'd become her love slave if she asked us (and we hope she
does).
Monica Bellucci
was the star of Malena and 20 other Italian films. She played
Gary Oldman's castle vampire in Dracula and appeared in Under
Suspicion with Gene Hackman and in The Matrix Reloaded and
in The
Matrix Revolutions.

Brotherhood
of the Wolf (2001)
|
Title:
Brotherhood of the Wolf
... aka Pacte des loups, Le
Released: 2001
Genre: Action
/ Horror / Thriller / Adventure / Crime / Mystery
Runtime: 142 min
Country: France
Language: French
/ German / Italian
Plot
Summary: In 1765 something was stalking
the mountains of south-western France. A 'beast' that
pounced on humans and animals with terrible ferocity.
Indeed they beast became so notorious that the King
of France dispatched envoys to find out what was happening
and to kill the creature. By the end, the Beast of
Gevaudan had killed over 100 people, to this day,
no one is entirely sure what it was, wolf? hyena?
or something supernatural? Whatever it was, shepherds
had the same life-expectancy as the red-suited guys
in 'Star Trek'. The Beast is a popular myth in France,
albeit one rooted firmly in reality; somewhat surprisingly
it is little known to the outside world, and perhaps
incredibly it has never been made into a movie. Until
now... Based on the true story of the Beast of the
Gevaudan that terrorised France in the mid-XVIIIth
century, the movie aims to tell first and explain
afterwards. In the first part, a special envoy of
the King of France, altogether biologist, explorer
and philosopher, arrives in the Gevaudan region, in
the mountainous central part of France. The Beast
has been attacking women and children for months and
nobody has quite been able to harm it or even take
a good look at it. In the second part, our hero Chevalier
de Fronsac will not only have to fight the Beast,
but also ignorance, bigotry and conspiracy and will
rely on two women, one an aristocrat, the other a
prostitute, as well as the enigmatic Mani, an Iroquois
he met in New-France (Canada).
Comments:
The
ultimate French action film. Brotherhood of the Wolf
(2001) has to be the ultimate French action film.
Not only is the direction superb but the action director
Phillip Kwok stages some of the best fights that I
have seen in awhile. How can you go wrong with state
of the art action scenes and a naked Monica Bellucci?
You can't. Besides Dobermann, this has to be the best
French action flick around. This movie has everything
you can want. The photography is excellent and the
editing is sharp and edgy. Highly recommended! A+
P.S. Monica Bellucci is so hot, she's on fire in this
one!!

A world at war. A young man coming of age. And the
woman who changed his life forever
Plot
Summary: On the day in 1940 that Italy
enters the war, two things happen to the 12-year-old
Renato: he gets his first bike, and he gets his first
look at Malèna, a beautiful, silent outsider
who's moved to this Sicilian town to be with her husband
Nico who promptly goes off to war, leaving her to
the lustful eyes of the men and the sharp tongues
of the women. During the next few years, as Renato
grows toward manhood, he watches Malèna suffer
and prove her mettle: her loneliness, then grief when
Nico is reported dead, the effects of slander on her
relationship with her father, her poverty and search
for work, and final humiliations. Will Renato learn
courage from Malèna and stand up for her?
Comments:
Monica
Bellucci is super sexy in a very good film. The person
who should get the most credit in this film is the
one who gave Bellucci those dresses to wear. (yum)
The story of young obsession is one that is close
to my heart. I remember being a young teenager in
love with a certain girl or woman. She is all you
think about.
Giuseppe Sulfaro does an awesome job as Malena's admirer
from a distance. Malena goes through many struggles
and depressing moments in her tortured life. Some
people don't like the ending of the movie wear Malena
is beaten by a gang for her choices. That scene is
a true to life event because it actually happened
to women at the end of WW2 who made the same choices.
How Malena is able to restore her pride and womanhood
is a wonderful moment. 8/10

Everyone has secrets. Some of them are crimes.
Plot
Summary: While San Juan celebrates San
Sebastian's Feast, recently-divorced and world-weary
police captain Victor Benezet calls in prominent attorney
Henry Hearst to clarify his statement about discovering
the body of a girl of about 12, the second such murder
in two weeks. As Hearst answers unconvincingly, Benezet
reveals circumstantial evidence: the lawyer is under
suspicion. The interrogation strips away Hearst's
dignity, public persona, and even his toupee, exposing
a breech with his beautiful and much younger wife,
questionable sexual predilections and a damning hobby.
Then, Hearst's wife volunteers information that confirms
police suspicions. Is Hearst finally at the breaking
point?
Comments:
Great
Movie. This was a breath of fresh air! As it had both
Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman listed as Executive
Producers AND it was financed by TF1 - so there was
a French influence - I was dying to see what they
would do with themselves. The result was a wonderful
did-he/didn't-he cop and suspect drama that always
seemed bigger than the few people on screen. The plot,
or rather our suspicions and Freeman's frustration
and triumph roller coaster twist and turn so that
you're never quite sure. Yet, it was not as annoying
as some of that type of film can be as it did not
deliberately mislead. Rather, it displayed the evidence
being told with the interrogator right there in the
picture - a device that I had not seen before. Whether
it is correct that a couple of American cops would
be playing detective in San Juan I have no idea; apart
from that the plot hung together remarkably well.
And the ending? One of the best I have ever seen in
a film of this type and beautifully played by two
very strong actors.

Personal quotes
"My body is so important to me... my face, my arms,
my legs, my hands, my eyes, everything. I use everything
I have."
"I'm
a big fan of Larry and Andy Wachowski because Bound
was a big hit in Europe. When I saw Matrix, I said to
myself, "I would love to be in a movie like that."
But I didn't know at the time that it was possible.
It was four years ago. Then Malena came out in America
and the Wachowski brothers wanted to see me. When I
see Persephone, I understand why because the way she
dressed, the way she talked, the way she walked was
very Malena. And then I had a great time working with
them, because they are completely in control."
"So
it was just a small independent Italian film that gave
me the possibility to open a few doors for me here."
"But
my idea's not to stay in America. My idea is to stay
in Europe, to keep going with European movies and come
here just if there is something that's interesting for
me."
"After
the third one, I was like... I'm going to throw up now,"
Bellucci said. "I'm going to throw up. It's going
to be perfect for the scene, because it's going to be
so real. "Even today, when I watch the rape scene,
I'm disturbed, because it looks so real. It's like a
snuff movie. You don't think it's acting."
