Plot
Summary: Carlito has just gotten out of
prison due to technicalities with the help of his
sleazy lawyer. After a life spent trafficking heroin
he decides not to pursue the life of the streets.
He buys into a night club and begins saving money
to move to the Bahamas, but his presence as a known
player makes it inevitable that he get sucked back
into his violent former life.

Better
than Scarface.Carlito's Way is Pacino at his best.
A lot of people are going to disagree with me but
Carlito's Way is a much better movie than Scarface.
Pacino is great in both roles. But whereas Tony Montana
is trying to get into the ganster life, Carlito Brigante
is someone who is trapped in that lifestyle. He tries
desparately to get out. He plays a real good guy who
can't escape his reputation or his past. Scarface
on the other hand is just an evil s.o.b. who I really
want to see die by the end of the movie. But Carlito
is the kind of character you have to root for. That
makes it a better movie, because I care about Pacino's
character. De Palma did make two great films here.
Carlito's Way will never reach the cult status of
Scarface but it's a better movie. If you're a fan
of either men, Pacino or De Palma, see both movies
and you make a decision
