Excellent
sequel. This and "Jean de Florette", when
combined, are up there with the best French movies
ever made. I didn't like the second bit as much as
the first (going on the sole reason that it was a
bit draggy at times), but without it, the entire story
is incomplete, so there you go. It was very nice to
see all the characters again from part one & watch
their individual fates change over time. There are
some very good moments in this movie that completely
shock you--that's all part of the greatness of "Manon
of the Spring."
