Sarandon.

Laurence Olivier in his 1979 film, A Little Romance.
At the time, she was working on Broadway for Joseph
Papp at the Public Theatre in the original production
of The Runaways. Both George Roy Hill and Joseph Papp
wanted her, and a series of telegrams between Papp,
Hill, Laurence Olivier, and Diane's father transpired,
with Hill, Olivier, and Diane's father wanting her in
the film, and Papp wanting to keep her in the play.
She ended up doing the film.
Personal quotes
"There's a persona to being an actress.... That
could put anyone into the shrink's office. Especially
if you're fifteen, sixteen, eighteen years old going
through that; realizing that the job is to have a persona."
"The
only phone call I really yearn to make is one I can't,
which is to say" 'Guess what, Dad?'." - Diane
Lane talking about her Oscar nomination (her father
Burt Lane (who managed her early career) passed away
February 2002)."
"Even
the short men I know appreciate a woman in heels."
"That
was something they hung on me like a Christmas ornament.
When I really young yet feeling very old, I offered
up a lot of myself to the press; I knew it was good
copy. And I knew I had a perspective on the business
and my individuality that I wasn't entitled to have.
But I came out of that fine because it was just a phase."
"For
all of us, I think, when we read the script, the betrayal
of trust was the greater crime. That's what everyone
identified with, that question of: When are you ever
safe?" [on Unfaithful]"
"I don't
think it was quite so blantant that people could buy
a career."
"Publicist,
manager, attorney, assitant, hairdresser, agent, who
are you screwing...Thank God I started at an earlier
time."
"The
script describes our relationship as basically public
foreplay..."
"I don't
know why I love this movie so much. I don't go to sea,
so I'm probably the only one who'll have a glowing report
about it because I don't get wet."
