Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)

Title: Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Released: 1982
Genre: Comedy / Drama
Runtime: 90 min
Country: USA
Language: English

Tagline: It's Awesome! Totally Awesome!

Plot Summary: Follows a group of high school students growing up in southern California, based on the real-life adventures chronicled by Cameron Crowe. Stacy Hamilton and Mark Ratner are looking for a love interest, and are helped along by their older classmates, Linda Barrett and Mike Damone, respectively. The center of the film is held by Jeff Spicoli, a perpetually stoned surfer dude who faces off with the resolute Mr. Hand, who is convinced that everyone is on dope.

Comments: Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Solid comedy that will stand the test of time. Fine script by future director Crowe and stand out performances from Penn, Leigh, Cates and Walston make this a non stop laugh riot.

Miami Blues (1990)

Title: Miami Blues
Released: 1990
Genre: Crime / Drama / Thriller / Comedy
Runtime: 97 min
Country: USA
Language: English

Tagline: Real badge. Real gun. Fake cop.

Plot Summary: When sociopath Fred Frenger gets out of prison, he decides to start over in Miami, Florida, where he starts a violent one-man crime wave. He soon meets up with amiable college student/prostitute Susie Waggoner. Opposing Frenger is Sgt Hoke Moseley, a cop who is getting a bit old for the job, especially since the job of cop in 1980's Miami is getting crazier all the time.

Comments: This is a great characterization of the novel detective HOKE MOSELEY. False teeth, blind "eye on the street", bust out existence and all. Fred Ward played it to the hilt. J J Leigh is a very underrated talent and played the "PRINCESS-NOT-SO-BRIGHT" role to the bone. Alec Baldwin is great as the pyscopathic, wanna be robin hood stickup man.. This movie is a small movie, but real entertainment.

Scene Description: Jennifer Jason Leigh removing her dress and then laying topless on a bed, wearing only panties. A guy then lays down on top of her and they kiss as we get a few more looks at her breasts.

Single White Female (1992)

Title: Single White Female
Released: 1992
Genre: Thriller / Drama
Runtime: 107 min
Country: USA
Language: English

Tagline: Allie's new room-mate is about to borrow a few things without asking. Her clothes. Her boyfriend. Her life.

Plot Summary: When a 'Single White Female' places an ad in the press for a similar woman to rent a room (to replace the boyfriend she's just left), all the applicants seem weird. Then along comes a level headed woman who seems to be just right. The new lodger has a secret past which haunts her.

Comments: Another stranger-from-hell thriller that is near excellent for the first hour or so, but in the third act it turns so average and predictable, it's hardly worth watching. Bridget Fonda is self-employed career woman Ally, whose new roommate, Heddy (Jennifer Jason Leigh) begins wearing the same clothes as Ally and even one night, pretends to be Ally and performs a "sexual act" on good girl's boyfriend (Steven Webber). Strong performances and good direction can't help saving the dull and once again predictable second part. Also spoiling the good intentions of this film are the erotic flagtones. Rated R for Violence, Sex and Nudity

Scene Description: Jennifer Jason Leigh in a bathtub topless.

Daughter of actor Vic Morrow and actress-screenwriter Barbara Turner.

Took the name 'Jason' from family friend actor Jason Robards.

Won two 1990 Critic Society awards for her portrayal of Tralala in 'Last Exit To Brooklyn' and as Susan Waggoner in 'Miami Blues'.

Selected as one of "America's 10 Most Beautiful Women" by Harper's Bazaar Magazine, 1989.

Has a sister, Carrie Ann Morrow, and a half-sister, actress Mina Badie. Her stepfather is director Reza Badiyi.

Well-known in Hollywood for the exhausting research she does for each of her portrayals, and for her affinity of playing lurid roles.

Had a part filmed for "Eyes Wide Shut". When Stanley Kubrick wanted to do re-shoots, she was unavailable and her entire part was redone with another actress.

Born at 12:33pm-PST

She went down to a weight of 86 lbs for her role as an anorexic teenager in the TV movie Best Little Girl in the World, The (1981) (TV).

In 1997, she appeared in Faith No More's music video of 'Last Cup of Sorrow', the plot of which was a modification of Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo.

Father, Vic Morrow, died while filming Twilight Zone: The Movie due to a tragic accident on the set.

Measurements: 34B-23-34 1/2 (Source: Celebrity Sleuth magazine)

She attended the infamous 'Stagedoor Manor', which is an upstate New York summer camp that trains teenagers in acting, singing and dancing. Her fellow alumni include sitcom actor Zach Braff (NBC's 'Scrubs'), the writer and director Todd Graff (who made a film about the camp), and the pop star Mandy Moore.

After reading the script for Backdraft (1991), she reportedly told director Ron Howard that she wished she was the fire because it has the best part.

Personal quotes

"I could never play the ingenue, the girl next door or the very successful young doctor. That would be a bore."

"There's something nice about blowing an illusion. I'm a really shy person. But when I'm in character, I can do what that character does. It's a much freer place."
