Exotica
(1994)
|
Title:
Exotica
Released: 1994
Genre: Drama
Runtime: 103 min
Country: Canada
Language: English
Tagline:
In a world of temptation, obsession is the deadliest
desire.
Plot
Summary: The 'Exotica' is a nightclub on
the outskirts of Toronto, where Eric, DJ and MC, watches
nightly as his ex-girlfriend Christina performs. Watches
jealously, especially as far as the extra attentions
regular customer Francis garners are concerned. Thomas,
meanwhile and erstwhile, goes through a series of,
um, interesting situations involving his pet shop,
a gruff taxi-sharing stranger, unexpected tickets
to the opera and smuggled eggs of a rare bird. Multiple
story lines unfold in a splendid tangle of cutbacks,
forward and backward references and recurring themes,
all woven around the Exotica, its customers and employees.
A calm roller-coaster ride of a movie, visually and
intriguingly and emotionally moving. O, and the sound
track is notable, too.
Comments:
Excellent.
When I watch a movie I like to be entertained rather
than presented with a series of images that I need
to figure out as if I'm taking a quiz. On the other
hand, I don't want it to be so simplistic that it
becomes boring. And, finally, I like being surprised
by plot twists that are not contrived. So this movie,
for me, is "just what the doctor ordered".
Always interesting, with wonderful performances, it
is a movie I highly recommend.

she never understood until she questions her own sexual
orientation.
Comments:
I
am a straight gal and I love the show!!! I love the
l word. I read quite a few postings about how a lot
of people thought the show aimed at heterosexual males.
I have to disagree. I am not a male but i am a heterosexual.
I can relate to some of the story lines because i
have been pregnant( bette and tina), I have been cheated
on (tim and jenny), I know people who play around
(shane), I have semi-dorky friends (dana) and lastly
i have been in love. i think the message of the show
is that as people we all share at least 1 thing on
common. That is that we all want to be loved. It doesnt
matter by who or how, we all want it. We strive for
it. Its a main priority in our lives from the moment
we are born. I think its a great show and i for one
will continue to watch it!!

and takes off her own top revealing hers before Mia

Karina lays next to Mia and rubs her between the legs
as they kiss.
Scene
Description:
Mia Kirshner sitting on a guy's lap and relating a story
about some lesbians making out as she kisses him and
then having her shirt lifted up and having him slide
his hands up her bra and kiss her nipples before lying
back on a couch and having sex.
