Heaven's Prisoners (1996)

Title: Heaven's Prisoners
Released: 1996
Genre: Mystery / Thriller
Runtime: 132 min
Country: USA / UK
Language: English

Tagline: For an ex-cop obsessed with an unsolved murder, trusting the wrong woman could be a deadly choice.

Plot Summary: Ex-detective Dave Robicheaux has made a new life for himself and his wife Annie running a bait shop in the outskirts of New Orleans. When they save a little girl, the sole survivor of a plane crash, their lives become forever changed. They take the orphan child into their home and prepare to raise her. However, a visit from DEA agent Dautrieve brings out the detective instincts in Robicheaux and he begins to ask about the rest of the passengers. This brings trouble to Robicheaux and he turns to drug lord Bubba Rocque, a childhood friend. But the friendship becomes estranged when an assault on the Robicheaux home leaves one victim...Annie.

Comments: Excellent detective film with some odd casting. I have read each of the Dave Robicheaux detective novels and was not overly happy that this particular novel was chosen as the movie. However, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. Alec Baldwin did a credible job as Dave Robicheaux, the Cajun detective. Teri Hatcher is good as the wife of the villain. Mary Stuart Masterson is totally miscast as a prostitute. Since the Masterson role is pivotal to the book and movie, it was a shame to pick someone like Masterson for the role. Barring these small complaints, it is an excellent film.

Scene Description: Teri Hatcher stands nude on a balcony.

Cool Surface, The (1994)

Title: Cool Surface, The
Released: 1994
Genre: Thriller
Runtime: 88 min
Language: English

Tagline: One touch is all it takes.

Plot Summary: A writer returns to Hollywood after finishing his novel in the wilderness. Still smarting from his girlfriend's suicide and his publisher's criticisms of his novel, he becomes intrigued by the neighbor couple's abusive relationship. Eventually he intervenes and becomes involved with the girl, basing a new book on their increasingly violent relationship sparked by his insane jealousy of her friends and her acting career.

Comments: Cool surface was "hot". We all know Teri Hatcher from the TV series Lois and Clark, The Cool Surface stars Hatcher as Dani Payson, a beautiful aspiring actress and neighbor to playwright Jarvis Scott (Robert Patrick). Jarvis observes Dani as she and her live-in lover alternately have sex and argue violently. He begins to have his own fantasies about Dani and is inspired to base one of his characters on her. The ambitious Dani finds out about his novel, then campaigns to win the lead in Scott's upcoming film. Cool Surface evidently wasn't "cool" enough to prevent certain well proportioned members of the cast from baring all. Word of mouth told me to check this out so I admit the only reason I watched this was to see Teri Hatcher strip down and get down. By the way rest of the film wasn't bad either just a B-rated late night sleaze fest.

Scene Description: Teri Hatcher laying topless on a bed as the camera pans up her body and then having her breast covered by a guy's hand and squeezed as he kisses her.

..Movie Stills

Scene Description: Teri Hatcher of Lois & Clark fame getting on top of a guy and taking her jacket off to reveal some black lingerie. She then tries to help him remove his pants before starting to kiss him. Next she's standing up kissing him when he lowers her top and gives us a long look at her breasts. Finally she is on her knees on a bed having sex from behind.

..Movie Stills

Scene Description: Teri Hatcher kissing a guy and sliding her hand in between his legs until he gets up giving us a brief glimpse of her right breast before she lays on the bed with the side of her breast showing.

..Movie Stills

Scene Description: Teri Hatcher kissing down the chest and stomach of a guy before riding him while he holds her breasts.

Personal quotes

"Despite the fact that I have a good-size pair of breasts... in Lois & Clark, I have the opportunity to show the world they're not my only attribute."

"My advice, Be healthy, reach your own goals and don't be afraid to impersonate a SNL star..."

"I was a typical high school jock training all the time so I was full of hormones, especially since I was a virgin."

"Women's emotional experiences and sexual experiences from childhood to old age are told in order to get the stories out to the public"

"What's good about talking about being victimized is that it is the beginning of being able to stop it."

"That's kudos to Eve's writing," Hatcher said. "If someone else tried to write what she wrote, it would have came out preachy. Because the material is so approachable, then even someone like a salty sea captain can appreciate it."

"If your vagina could talk, what would it say?
Teri: I need a wax before I go to Maui!"

"If your vagina could wear clothes, what would it wear?
Teri: A new bikini for Maui."

"What is the best quality of your vagina?
Teri: If I might say so myself, it's all around pretty fabulous!"
